The novel 30 x40

Presently these paintings are available at my studio and are priced accordingly. That is without the gallery markup. If you want to see more of my work you may want to vsist the gallery sites for ArtSource in Raleigh and the Carlton Gallery in Foscoe , North Carolina

My paintings appear to be of various styles.  This is due to the fact that I do work in my previous academic style in order to keep the disipline nessecarry to extrapolate from it into my figurative or "contemporary " style. It is not unusal for me to have completed a painting of a figure in a very academic fashion befpore I proceed to adapt it to my figurative style.

I also do work on commission and I am often asked by galleries to paint landscapes, etc. for their slaes. However, my real effort in to work in the figurative style (contemporary) which I am constantly studying and evolving. This is a lifetime process which I anticpate to never complete satisfactorily. I feel that often I am trapped in a vision I  must expres. This is what usually resuls in th experiment of my 'Figurative' works. My initial paintings were more into the 'form' and "line" expression where as now I am expanding into more facial as well a form sentiment. The titles are often those applied by my wife or gallery reprsenatives. I  leave the final adjudication for a title to the viewer as it is he or she that will finally experience the sentiment of the painting for him or herself. My personal expressions are those derived from a gentile and 'musical' expression. I like the quiteness and sentimentallity I often feel when painting these subjects. I use the colors , form and line to produce a sensous contemplative outcome.

As to the landsacpes and still life paintings these are more or less self expressive and need very little or no interpretation. It is for that main reason that I feel a void when painting them and it is consequently my desire to express my inner soul in the figurative style. For that reason I tend to aplly less value on the 'impressionistic' paintings . I leave the final judgemnt as to what pleases to the viewer and collector who will ultimately wnat to enjoy the painting they have purchased.

Figurative Paintings

At the bath house

30x40

Price : $3500

This painting is a bit more academic that the painting below.

Ballerinas getting ready

30x40

Price : $3000

In this painting the facial as well as the large form is part of the total expression . The folds in the clothes revolve around the posture of the figures lending to the dramtic resolution of the composition. The facial expressions are essential to the total mood of the painting.
